Tea~ish

juliewhitmorepottery.etsy.com
Hello!

I had a tea party for my sister and friends~
We placed the furniture just in time, so there were plenty of seats

Pulling up and going through the garden was the start;

Then the gals had to step up one set of stairs,
then another,
then they could look down at how far they'd climbed

and have salad, and sandwiches and tea things
I'm chopping cucumbers here I think.....
Since the tea I've been painting and pottering for a rather large listing this week.
There's the painting 'White Dog'
And donkey domes and spoons,

and some vegetables and I'm not sure what all there is~
And then maybe another Tea Party?
Yes!

xx

Beautiful tea party - I like how you presented the photos leading up to the house, through the garden, up the stairs - reminiscent of all the steps and preparations of a Japanese tea ceremony. Lovely.
And how I love your new work! That little owl-

Hey Julie, a tea party sounds like a wonderfully, relaxing way to entertain.
It sounds like you've been inspired and very creative in your studio. Love the colours in your painting and the woman is wearing another beautiful blouse.
You know last September when you painted the lady with the chickens and Hollyhocks I was in New York and I fancied I saw a similar blouse . I didn't buy it at the time, but the next day I went back to the shop to search for it through racks that were jammed full of clothing. Sadly I didn't find it, but always thought it would be nice to wear when I fed my chooks and would remind me of my holiday.

Julie, thanks for sharing your lovely home and garden with us! Pretty chocolate geraniums in your tea party arrangement!

Julie Whitmore Pottery said...

Alisa, those geraniums are wonderful, they grow wild all around the house from one cutting years ago. I've got a nutmeg one too that is sprouting up everywhere and now want a lemon rose.
