little pink houses

We took a road trip and this is where we went. Lots of painted houses by the sea.
yes, they really are this wonderful in Pacific Grove, California
Lover's cove, a good place to picnic and swim after.

There was shopping too. This is Tancredi and Morgen in Carmel Valley.  Marsha, the creative genius behind this shop makes the scarves and designs clothes, does displays that make you see things in a whole new way.

My friend Gwyneth, isn't she darling? An accomplished painter who shows her paintings at Tancredi and Morgen~

Gallerying in Carmel
Two whole mornings were spent at the Montery Bay Aquarium. You can get very close to the birds. I did and developed a crush on this oystercatcher. Who wouldn't?
Another crush, this time on a sea turtle.
           Its crowded there!
We saw the hundred year moon Saturday night coming home from dinner.!

This looks like a fun weekend and your photos tell the story well Julie. I've been there before! Love Carmel...amazing amazing. We went to the aquarium too but due to miscalculation of driving time from San Fran (totally my sister's fault - ha ha) we only had 1 1/2 hour at the aquarium! Not enough time at all!

Happy Monday to you Julie!!!

Oh, lovel houses! California... someday I will visit there!!
I have a crush on your aquarium crushes, too. When I lived in Greece, I saw an enormous sea trutle swimming off the side of a boat, it was really something!!

And, just to let you know, I smiled heartily when your header image came up. I know it isn't brand new, but it keeps making me smile from ear to ear...

Looks like a lovely trip to lovely places! Never heard the term Hundred Year Moon, what is the story behind that?
And the oyster catcher - only a few days ago, Graham at "A Hebridean in New Zealand" posted about one, too; look at his pictures if you get the chance.

What a wonderful trip Julie! I love the places you visited, the beach looks so beautiful, a perfect picnic spot :)
Oyster catchers are a real favorite of mine. We have them here in Devon in the UK and I love to watch them flying and soaring over the sea. I also adore turtles but I have never seen one.
Thankyou for sharing your beautiful photographs

We ate in Carmel on our honeymoon. We also saw seals in Monterey Bay. I had never seen a seal in the ocean before. I would love to go back and visit all the beautiful places we enjoyed on our honeymoon. Thank you for the lovely photos.

Hello dear Julie! What beautiful and colorful homes! I have always dreamed of being able to go to Carmel. I am so happy you had such a lovely time. Thank you for sharing your lovely photos. The birds and turtle are so sweet! I can see why you had a crush on them. The moon is stunning! Thank you for your lovely comment and visit! I was so happy my hubby found those Miss Read books for me. I have some of the newer paperbacks, but, like you, I adore the illustrations on these and reading them too, of course! You are quite the gifted artist yourself! Love, Paula xo
