back to the woods

Everyone knew the time arrived to get back to the woods.

Except for Red Riding Rabbit, who'd decided to take a detour.

Let's go Red! all her friends called........

The nights were coming on sooner

Fox was very savvy and carried two lanterns.

Red dropped off the cake to Grandma and hurried on.

This gingerbread deliciousness was made by Kary.

They would come back and see the farmlady at halloween though;

Everyone would think they were in costumes!

Only you and I know their secret.

Have fun in the woods, but be careful of the wolf.

xx

Oh my goodness, would it be very boring to say how much I love all these pieces - I seem to say nothing else! But it's true - the little red riding hood dish is a perfection of sweetness!

Are those beautiful woods near where you live Julie? That's one thing we have very little of here in Cornwall - magnificent woodlands. I do so love ancient trees. Your illustrations of all the little woodland creatures are enchanting. Do you narrate stories to your grandchildren round the fire - I can just imagine you doing so! x x x

Christine,
Ha! I don't even have children let alone grandchildren!!

We do have woods here, oaks and pines mostly, even a fern forest.

I fear for Red Riding Rabbit...
Yet the wolf is running away?
For recruitments?
Or is he off lapin this week?
Your figures remind me of Punch and Judy a bit without the punches.

Glad to see Red's detour didn't end badly! Thank you for another instalment of your lovely series. I still think these little picture stories would make wonderful children's books.

A fox with two lanterns...hmmm...that gives me the heebie-jeebies. I will have to be on high alert, should I venture into the woods. I certainly would love to pack a basket filled with your lovely wares. I covet the pitcher.
Have "buttoning up your cardigan" fun, Jody

Why did I miss this post? It is fabulous! All of it! That picture of the trees turning in all their glory in the woods is magical and sets the scene perfectly for all your creations.

I adore fox carrying two lanterns and the little red riding hood dish is just stunning.

I am really in awe here.

So sorry not to have visioned this beauty before.

Oh Julie. I am such an autumn lover...and I can tell you are as well. I just love all your new fall things...just magical as always. I hope you are having a wonderful October!!
My little blog has gone private now (for awhile anyhow, unfortunatly) but I would love to have you still be a visitor if you like. I just need your email address. If you want to visit could you email me at manti jenny at yahoo?
Oh..and I remember that we share a birthday! I hope yours was wonderful. When I got out my fall decorations this past week I found the little sawdust filled pumpkin embroidered pillow you made back in the Finnie McClure days..it always makes me smile. I think I may leave it out all year this year. Wouldn't be the first time.

Oh Poor poor Wolf! He has been sadly misjudged! His Gran used to make delicious spicey Gingerbread each Fall- for his Birthday! Can he help it if the smell brings tears to his eyes and a bit of drool to the corners of his mouth? And Little Red's Granny has collected many of your Fabulous pieces of pottery, which Mr. Wolf also adores (he has such good taste!)Please be a bit more lenient and understanding...not all Wolves are bad!

What a beautiful blog you have, my dear!
You comment often on Librarian with secrets, but I am not sure if I have left a comment here. What a wonderful artist you are, you very much remind me of one of my favorites, Beatrix Potter.
Thanks for telling me that juniper is available here, I had no idea!
Let's make some German sauerkraut,THRILLED that Meike listened to me and got the recipe!
Cheers!

Well, Julie, you continue to amaze and enchant me with your creations and sweet little stories. Each new pottery piece replaces the other as my favorite. As I rug hook, I use one of your ( well, mine now) sweet little dishes for my wool snippets!
