harbingers of spring

My neighbor called last night to say he saw a rabbit in his garden.  I've been watching the deer dine (gorge) themselves on fresh grass, and we had a squirrel here, a huge one, grey and so beautiful I watched him for twenty minutes. I have been willing spring to burst forth  by making these new animal busts on woodland stands.
Running water! counters and light in the kitchen. And a beautifully stained floor thanks to Kim.
I've got piles of boxes to unpack, I hope my wooden spoons turn up soon, and my teas. Can you believe I packed them away in December. What was I thinking?
I make my first donkey bust!

Here's the other side of the kitchen. We are going to move the table in this afternoon after I fill the hutch..........
I can't think of a happier way to spend a Monday afternoon.
Here's a close up of the shelf Joe made. I've been using my old café au lait bowls and it makes coffee and tea taste delicious.

There's the kind of blue/turquoise tea kettle I told you about. Do you like my cleaning supplies on the fridge?  Did I go overboard with the kitchen pictures? I did try and show some restraint~
honest I did.

Thanks for your visit my dears. I haven't been visiting blogs as much as I love and enjoy doing so because of the hub bub around the farm, but things seem to be settling down a bit.
Wear your warmest socks; and drink lots of fortifying tea. I hope you see signs of spring around your own farm too.

Ahhh, I can smell spring now! Nevermind what might be nestling in your fridge and pantry shelves; I could feast my eyes on your beautiful bowls, creations...

Can you hear my happy sigh all the way from France?

Keep drinking your tea and looking out for signs of spring. It's funny how I have always refrained subconsciously from drinking my coffee or tea from a bowl simply because I always used to have to do it when staying with my grand-mother and uncles and aunts. I think I rebelled by chosing to prefer cups!

I adore your new quaint kitchen, it makes my soul so happy to see that hutch included, and all your bowls and kettle and stove, they are glorious and they sing to me! I am afraid spring is still pretty far away here, I can never get used to living here in the winter after my entire life, it just seems to get longer and longer. Please send at least sunshine, I already feel your warmth.

Your kitchen is like a dream come true! I love the colours, the neat and tidy look of everything, your beautiful creations mixed with older things everywhere.
I must admit I am not entirely sure about the clay busts; they give me something of an eerie impression, like the heads of stuffed animals would do, mounted to the wall of someone's study or living room.

Hi Julie! I just found you in a round-about way. I LOVE your work. I was looking at your SOLD pieces in Etsy.Everything is so beautiful!
Your kitchen looks great. We just redid our cottage's kitchen with white cabinets. I'm curious about your stove...are there 4 separate ovens? I see 4 doors there.
I haven't snooped around your blog enough to see where you're located. I'm from Chicago (U.S.).
I'm going back to look around some more. :o)

Thanks for all your super duper comments , and Laura,
The top door on the left is a broiler, the oven is on the right
the two and the bottom are a warming oven, and a storage drawer.
The top folds down to cover the burners and the center griddle. I'll show that in a future post.
Its an O'Keefe and Merrit, c. about 1948. Thanks for stopping by
