you'll never know, dear

I've been thinking about love alot lately. Married love, friendship love, and mother love especially.
Mr. and Mrs. now. I hope they know whats ahead for them , but you never really do, do you?
Just hope there is lots of luck and love in reserve......
Journey's end in lover's meeting, especially for loyal donkeys
How wonderful it is to have a friend to laugh and cry with!
My beautiful mother on the left with me on the right. You can pick your friends and mates, but not your mom. I was lucky with mine. Fun loving, nuturing, art loving and as you can see, stylish. Here we are on one of those rare days, where everything conspires together for happiness. Beautiful Santa Barbara weather, an art show at the beach in the morning, then lunch at El Paseo downtown and visiting grandma and grandpa in the afternoon. I loved my mother so much. miss you , always will. xxxxx

This is such a lovely and touching post both visually with your pottery/painting and with your written words. Moms are just incredibly special. I still miss my wonderful Mom...she was just the best with her warmth and all of the great "Mom" things she did with me.

What a neat photo of you and your Mom. I had such an awesome Mom and lost her and my Dad almost 3 yrs ago. They were a team and passed away 2 weeks apart. I am so in LOVE with all of my pieces from you. Have a beautiful day.

Hi Julie - What a wonderful, beautiful post. My mom passed away so young. Didn't get to know her as an adult and for a long time I missed that kind of motherly love. No more. Now, my life is chock-full of older women and I'm rich in love from all of them. Thanks for reminding me about how lucky I am today.... What a sweet post. Thanks Julie.

Such sweet pictures, and you are right, your mum WAS beautiful and stylish - and so are you, love the outfit you wear in the picture!
I am one of those people blessed with loving parents, both mum and dad have provided my sister and me with a wonderful childhood and are still there for us to love and be loved. Dad is turning 70 in a few days, and Mum will be 68 this summer. I hope they will be around for many more years.
It always saddens me when I hear from people who have difficult or no relationship to their family at all.

Beautiful post, Julie, and such a sweet photo and memories of your mom. As always - love, love, love your latest art.

I had to giggle when I read your comment over at my blog. I think some of us have a demanding voice inside, repeating "Not good enough - do it again", while others (like you) listen to "That was FUN!!! Do some more!" I'm working on changing this! :)

Hope you have a happy weekend!

Julie, what a sweet and beautiful post. I miss my mother, too. Although she's still with me physically, her mind is not very clear and she's no longer the person who birthed and mothered me. I can still touch her, hold her, see her smile and the brightness in her eyes, but I long for the days when she and I could laugh or cry or work or just be together. Please don't misunderstand...I am so, so very grateful to still have Mom, but I would be less than honest if I didn't say I would love to have back the woman who has had a greater influence on me than anyone else ever. I dread the day when she's no longer with me at all, except for the memories. How blessed I'm been to have such a wonderful woman in my life.

Thank you for sharing thoughts about your mother. I can so relate to them.

Dear Julie,

I lost my Dad a few years back and although I miss him, I am SO GLAD that my tears are not of regret but of gratitude that ALL he left me with. I can tell that you had that with your mom.

Thanks for always sharing from your heart, home and your art which is so beautiful and inspiring. You are one of my all time favorite artists and I so appreciate the kind word you leave on my blog as I am a huge fan!!! xoxo
