Keats and Fanny

Now hold on just a darn minute. I see the month of May is nearly over and I'm not ready to say goodbye. I want it back. May has been good to me and I would like to do it all over again.
For instance: In the sky the swallows are swooping and spinning. Climbing roses have topped the garden with squishy pink clouds, and in the studio I am making Boombah pieces again. Like the two rabbits above, "Keats and Fanny" in honor of the English poet and his true love.

This shadow box is nearly ten and a half inches tall. It qualifies as a boombah too. The lady reaches up to a passing bluebird, who flies by with a heart in its beak. The word 'away' is written on the heart and there is her small suitcase too, just out of camera shot. The moon looks down on the whole scene.

But looking forward, June has good things brewing too. Fresh cherries, apricots and baseball games. Migrating pelicans, birthdays to celebrate and talk of a tea party at a friends wonderful house close by. So we will have to let May go. And one of these days, just like a dear friend, May will come visit us again.
xx

Julie, these pieces are just wonderful!! You know I'm loving the little house in there :) I would love to do work like this, but it just wouldn't come out of me like it does you. I passed on your blog to a friend of mine and you have a real fan there. She will never leave a comment though.

I've never heard the word boombah before, but if that's what they are, then I like boombah pieces :-)
May was good to me, too. Last weekend was the best one I had ever since Steve died. We had the international street music festival in our town, and I had so much fun it was almost criminal!!

Oh Julie, May has been good to you. The roses must look a picture and your Boombah Bunnies are just lovely as is the shadow box.
We have a reasonably clear night here and the moon is looking down on us, bathing everything in it's silvery, shimmery, sheen just beautiful.

Did you see the movie Bright Star about Keats and his relationship with Fanny?

Julie!
Yes, May was a wonderful month, even here in New England, not usually famous for nice Spring weather.

But, I'm sure June will also be great, as I'm sure that the new JW pieces will be equally as great. Can't wait for that!

Your rabbits, and the boombahs, are spectacular!!!!!

Those rabbits are so romantic. They look as though they are off for a picnic. Your shadow box is wonderful too. I love all the different things you make. Where do you get your inspiration from? May is my most favourite month, I'm sad to say goodbye too. California sounds so tantalising when you talk of cherries, apricots and pelicans. Makes me dream of holidays :-)
