Good dog

juliewhitmorepottery.etsy.com

My dog, Emmie
She's not what you'd call good.

The loudest barker in the hood
who ripped the couch and ate a chair
when there was no one sitting there.

But her eyes give off a light
and her tail wags left to right
when I come home at night
So I guess the rests allright......
Listing this morning;
hope your tail is wagging with happy plans for the weekend

Hi Julie,
Fun poem and gorgeous pottery! We just adopted Henry from the pound and he sounds a lot like your Emmie! We're afraid to leave him home for a minute. He's already chewed through two window sills, our new curtains, parts of our wood floor, and my daughter's favorite tango shoes that were in a closed bag. It's a good thing he's so soft and cute!

Our beloved dogs, they do have a way of making us forgive their "quirks" don't they.
Your pups are precious - live and painted.

The photo of the dog on my blog is Iggy, our long haired dachsund....he is a dollbaby too! He is really my daughter's dog, (she lives with us), but he is really MY dog, ( if you know what I mean!)

Your new dog paintings are wonderful - especially love those soulful eyes! I really like the painting of Emmie, but that terrier is just lovely, too. Dogs...they are just the best! Happy Autumn - I think it starts today or is the 22nd?!?

Oh that pottery! I seriously am hankering after your work. And oh, that dog! I am thankful mine is not the only naughty one prone to chewing and swallowing our cherished possessions. My goodness he is sweet though; just like yours CLEARLY!

Emmie might be a rascal Julie but what a great inspiration she is for your lovely work. The addition of an Emmie paw print (autograph)might required if she gets too famous!! Eli x

Dearest Julie...so beautiful, as always. Your art captures my heart!! Alice is 4 now...quite mature in most ways, but she still loves to steal the odd shoe for a chew. Also watch straps are a favourite (I think it's the sweaty smell of us in the leather that attracts her!) And she swiped my toothbrush from my spongebag recently after a trip and dashed out to the garden with it. I let her have that & bought a new one! Typical terrier...love to you xx

About my Madeleine pan...yes it is rubber and they were yummy! I dipped mine in my coffee which gave it a Tiramisu feeling. Cheap way to go to Europe, huh?

Absolutely gorgeous. I wanted to tell you that I was a massive fan of Kary's blog. We had never corresponded as i'm not a blogger myself, but I loved pretty much everything she loved! And I also adore your pottery and artwork! I only wish it were here in the UK so I could get some. All the best, Deb

Julie, your doggie portraits are just wonderful. Winslow Homer is a talker...okay...barker. But no matter, we would not trade him for anything in the world...I so admire your pottery, I recall seeing your beautiful pottery through out various posts from Kary, My Farmhouse Kitchen. I had been thinking of Kary today as I shopped for Halloween decor at Target. Greetings from Maine, Julie.

Love the photos and the wreath. The paintings capture that je ne said quoi that dogs have in their eyes, a bit of soul I guess.

Silly poem a bit of 'doggerl'? Pun intended. Hope all is well.

Cheers, Katrina
